Vijaypur, Oct 3: The online system, that was started in the office of ARTO, Samba, more than 10 months back, has developed some technical snag, causing inconvenience to the people.
At the time of its installation over 10 months back, the online system was termed as the first of its kind, but it miserably failed to take off, official sources said.
"The system, which was installed by National Informatics Center (NIC), has developed some fault but the department concerned has failed to rectify it to make it function properly," they added.
Sources said those visiting the ARTO office to apply for driving license, were the main victims as they were being returned by the officials on the plea that they were unable to process their cases due to some technical snag in the system. Due to the mess, agents were alleged to be minting money with the connivance of some employees. The purpose of making the system online was to make it transparent and corruption free.
The office has also not put any board at its entrance. "There are nearly 45 offices in the premises of newly constructed district office and visitors face tough time in locating the ARTO's office," they said. |
