Jammu, Oct 3: Apart from targeting dissidents across the country and overtly using state machinery to shield the culprits, the ruling BJP is now targeting opposition party workers in J&K. In a recent incident in Ramnagar, a Panthers Party worker was brutally attacked by seven BJP workers. According to sources, the BJP workers brutally attacked one Bishan Dass at Matta Shital temple, Rasli Takhrai, Basantgarh. "I was there for pilgrimage, as Jagran was organized in the temple on the eve of first Navratra", said Dass, who received major injuries on his head during attack. "A gang of seven BJP workers namely Sumit, Kuldeep, Yash, Arvind, Yash, Sudesh and Shahil attacked me with stones and sticks at about 3:30 am on Sunday ", he said and added that they threatened to eliminate him if he approached police. "I am a soldier of the Panthers Party. That is why party leader Harsh Dev Singh came to my rescue", Dass said, adding that after the incident police refused to register case the culprits, while the doctors in Ramnagar hospital too ignored his injuries. "After intervention of Harsh Dev Singh, the doctors treated me and later referred me to District Hospital Udhampur for advanced treatment", Dass said. "A large number of people gathered seeking registration of FIR against the culprits, but police refused. BJP leader R S Pathaina reached the police station to defend his goons", Dss said, adding that it was not possible for him to get an FIR registered without intervention of Harsh Dev Singh. When contacted, SHO, Ramnagar, Urfan Parvez said a case has been registered and efforts are on to arrest the accused. "A case (FIR number 115/2016) under sections 147, 336 and 323 stands registered. The accused would be nabbed soon", he added. |
