'Incapable' DSEJ puts career of students stake | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 3: Putting the career of around 700 students of schools within the limits of Jammu Municipal Corporation at stake, the Director School Education Jammu (DSEJ) seems to have failed to prove her capability. If sources are to be believed, there are around 400 students of 11th and 12th class in Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Cantt Satwari, but there is no lecturer for three subjects-Geography, Political Science and Economics. Sources said that students and their parents have repeatedly filed complaints in this regard with Education Minister, Commissioner Secretary Education and Director School Education. But to no avail. Sources further maintained that right from beginning of the session, a lecturer for Political Science was not posted in the school while there is no lecturer of Geography for last two months. There's also no lecturer to teach Economics. "11th and 12th class have crucial role in shaping career of the students. If they are denied lectures, how they would excel in their career," asked a parent whose daughter studies in the school. This is not the story of one school in Jammu city limits. There are nearly 50 students with computer subjects in Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar who have no lecturer for the same subjects for last two sessions. "At time of admissions students were forced to opt Computer subject by the administration of the school knowing the fact clearly that there is no lecturer of the said subject in the school", alleged sources. Sources further alleged that there is only one lecturer for around 400 students of Physical and Health Education in the Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar. |
