KPs seek justice for agitating migrant employees | | | Early Times Report
Jammu Oct 3: Kashmiri Pandit leadership once again came out in open support of the agitating Kashmiri Migrant Employees of Kashmir alleging violation of their human rights by state government and demanded justice for them with immediate appointment of a nodal officer at Jammu to redress their grievances. Release of their timely salaries was demanded till conducive atmosphere is created for their return to valley. They castigated the state government for ignoring KP Hindu employees who are on a dharna for the past 81 days after their residential camps were attacked extensively and selectively during the current unrest in Valley with government turning a deaf ear towards their miseries. The KP leadership which included almost all the top organizations came down heavily on the attitude of the state government for indulging in human rights violation against Hindu employees working in Kashmir Valley under PM Package and Non-PM Package category saying their salaries are withheld and their demand of appointment of a nodal officer at Jammu is not heard leaving them to the mercy of God. The Pandit leaders said that these nationalist people who braved all odds to work in Kashmir Valley have been left high and dry by the government while it was busy in placating and appeasing separatist elements responsible for unrest in Kashmir. The leaders said that employees have already stated that they are willing to serve in Kashmir when government creates such a conducive atmosphere and till such time government must create a nodal office in Jammu to utilize their services here and release their salaries. They said that situation in Kashmir valley was not in the hands of the government or even separatists and in such a civil war kind of a situation they cannot send their children to Valley. Seeking immediate constitution of a high-level official committee to talk to agitating employees KP leadership said that they will not allow the government to use the Hindu employees as scapegoats for its failed rehabilitation attempt. |
