Kathua, Oct 3: In an alleged case of negligence against A K Gupta hospital, special mobile magistrate, Kathua, has directed police to collect all the relevant record of the complainant from the hospital so that the preliminary inquiry into the alleged matter is completed expeditiously by the HoD of surgery unit of GMCH, Jammu. "Incharge SHO of Kathua police station is hereby directed to collect all the relevant record of the complainant from Dr A K Gupta hospital so that the preliminary inquiry be completed expeditiously by the HOD of surgery unit of GMCH, Jammu," the court said. The SSP, Kathua, was also directed to furnish the preliminary inquiry as per the September 10, 2016 order and submit it to this court without any further delay. Let the complaint come up for hearing on October 22, 2016. The court directive came in a petition filed by Prakash Singh, son of Sarsn Singh of Kamala, Kathua, who had on June 26, 2016 undergone an operation for removal of stone in left kidney. The surgery was allegedly performed by Dr A K Gupta himself. While he remained admitted in the hospital under Dr A K Gupta's supervision from June 26 to July 10, the doctor could not control bleeding from the operated part. Having allegedly failed to handle the case, the doctor discharged from the hospital. After hearing his counsel, the court directed directed SSP, Kathua, to instruct the concerned police officer to get the medical opinion from HoD of surgery unit of GMCH, Jammu, whether the allegations made by the complainant were sufficient for registration of offences against Dr A K Gupta Hospital and Research Centre, Kathua, under section 202 of CrPC. |
