Early Times Report

JAMMU, Feb 2: With citizenship rights to West Pakistani refugees is snowballing into a big political controversy, Dalit organizations came out in support of these "voiceless" marginalized lot of the society which is worst ever kind of human right violation of this century at the hands of those pro-claimed democrats who have been ruling the country as well as state of Jammu and Kashmir since 1947.
First time Dalit organizations have vociferously echoed demand of the West Pakistani refugees who have been demanding that they should be given those rights which are required for the human being to live with dignity and honour.
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has supported citizenship rights to West Pakistani refugees but other Dalit organisations mostly maintained a criminal silence over this human problems but now these organisations have also started raising their voice to counter Kashmir centric and anti-India parties which have been opposing rights for these refugees.
State president of All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organizations (J&K), R K Kalsotra, while addressing a meeting of refugees at Vijaypur today asked the refugees to stay united. He told the gathering that their fight is not an easy task because all successive Governments and a large number of State Subject holder are not in their favour and not interested for them and their family welfare and majority of those are against them . There is a reason behind it that majority of refugees are Dalits and OBCs. He advised them that they should consider 2015 as their target year and try to finish the task and that whole of the year not to take any sort of rest and should come on road and struggle hard to expose the Govt.
The poor West Pakistani refugees, who have been struggling to get basic fundamental rights, are treated as aliens by successive state governments. Majority of these West Pakistani refugees are Dalits but those who claimed themselves as champion of the cause of Dalits have never spoke about miseries of this lot of the society.
Kashmiri centric parties and anti-India groups like Hurriyat Conference are opposing citizenship rights to these refugees. These groups are trying to instigate innocent people by attaching religion with this purely a human problem.
