Hotel Association delegation calls on Union Home Secretary 2/2/2015 10:48:00 PM Early Times Report Katra, Feb 2: A delegation of Hotel & Restaurant Association Katra led by its President Sham Lal Kesar & Sr. Vice President Rakesh Wazir called on Union Home Secretary Anil Goswami and apprised him certain issues including decrease of 35 lakh Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra in just two years among other issues. The association members told Union Secretary that emphasis needs to be given on the deliberately decreasing the pilgrimage period and facilities like that of Shri Amarnath Yatra with baseless reasons, deliberately torturing of the Vaishno Devi pilgrims by the traffic Police at more than a dozen spots right from entry to the state at Lakhanpur & usual stopping of normal flow of Vaishnodevi pilgrims at Nagrota, Domail on one pretext or the other be stopped. They even criticized the charging of official tax money from tourist buses on daily basis which too discourages the Yatra. Kesar & Wazir even criticized the railway authorities for deliberate stoppage. Prime Minister promised extension of Jammu trains to Katra , reducing the number of D.M.U's since the last 6-7 months and even denial of very existing railways facilities to pilgrims thereby further adding to their hardships , like Taxi, Auto, Vehicle stands since constructed and ready, railway parking lots at Railway Station Katra and not being allowed to be used by the Autos, Taxis and common people for parking of their vehicles They said that Katra is crumbling for basic amenities like water ,electricity and needed cleanliness at Katra .There are only three Yatra slip counters at Katra likewise years ignored 5 Km damaged Katra-Domail road track is required to be coal tared at the earliest. They further said that inspite of using of local Vaishnodevi Shrine funds and local lands in SMVD University, all the facilities to the locals and students of Jammu region are denied and even in Class 4th employment the locals had been totally ignored and the local students Reservation in academics as prevalent in many other states stand denied to the local students in this University so the reservation to local people of Jammu region is required to be given.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
