60th NSG to start from Wednesday: Aggarwal

Jammu, Feb 2: Director General, Youth Services and Sports (YSS), Naveen Aggarwal said that the Department of YSS will host various National School Games in different disciplines for Boys and Girls under all age groups from February 4th, 2015.
He said after successful conduct of 60th National School Games (NSG) in Badminton U-14 Years Boys and Girls recently held at Jammu, the department has proposed to host 60th National School Games under the aegis of School Games Federation of India in Speed Ball and Roll Ball U-19 Years for Boys and Girls scheduled to be held on February 4, 2015.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu, Director Information, Mukhtar-ul-Aziz were also present on the occasion.
The Director General said that venue for Speed Ball Competition U-19 Years (Boys and Girls) will be at Mahavir International School, 17 Miles NH - 1A, District Samba. He further said that the venue for Roll Ball Competition U-19 Years (Boys and Girls) shall be at Delhi Public School, Rajbagh District Kathua.
Aggarwal said that the Opening Ceremony Function of Speed Ball (U-19 Boys and Girls) will be at 2:00 pm at Mahavir International School District Samba for which 20 State Level Teams of Speed Ball (Boys and Girls) have registered to participate in the National Competition. The competitions will be held with effect from February 4th to 7th which include CBSE, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh.
He said that the Opening Ceremony Function of Roll Ball (U-19 Boys and Girls) will be held at Delhi Public School, Rajbagh District Kathua at 11:00 am on 04-02-2015. About 20 State Level Teams of Boys and Girls from 12 States of the country have confirmed their participation in the National Competitions which include CBSE, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Vidya Bharathi and Tamil Nadu.
"It is for the first time in the history of District Samba and District Kathua that they will have the privilege to host the National School Games in their Districts", Aggarwal maintained and adding that a coaching camp for the J&K State Teams was organized at Youth Hostel Nagrota in which advanced coaching was imparted. We are hopeful of winning National Medals in both Speed Ball and Roll Ball during the 60th National School Games, he said. Among others, Member Organizing Committee Hajji Mirza and AR Shigan were also present on the occasion.
