DB directs petitioner to file affidavit indicating violation PIL regarding conversion of Basmati rice growing Land 2/2/2015 11:33:49 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 2 : In a Public Interest Litigation filed by Ranjeet Singh Chib in which petitioner expressed his concern for illegal conversion of world famous Basmati Paddy/Rice Land Growing into concrete jungle with free hand in Sub Division RS Pura. As per PIL petitioner submitted that thousands of Kanals of land has been converted into banquet halls, residential colonies and business complexes in last five years without obtaining permission from the Revenue Minister as required under J&K Land Revenue Act, in which earlier Division Bench restrained construction on Agriculture land. Today when this PIL came-up for hearing , petitioner who is appearing in person alleged that in breach of the prohibitory orders, violations are still taking place, Upon this Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir that petitioner shall be at liberty to file an affidavit to indicate the kind of violations which are going on and also directed state to file latest status report .   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
