DB directs SVO to file latest status of the case | Multicrore Rohsni Land Scam | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 2: In a much publicized land grabbing by with the nexus of politician and bureaucrats in which an application seeking CBI probe in multicrore Roshni Land Scam, Division Bench of state High Court Comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir issued fresh directions to State Vigilance Organization (SVO) to submit the latest status of the case as was earlier directed by the Division Bench on December 17. When this much publicized PIL came-up for hearing, Advocate Irfan Khan appearing for the petitioner submitted that SVO has failed to comply the directions of the Court whereby it was directed to submit the status of all the 547 cases referred to it by the office of Accountant General. He also submitted that the instant case is of vide public importance as high ranking officers are involved in the illegal transfer of State land worth lacs of kanals. After hearing Advocate Irfan Khan and Senior AAG Gagan Basotra who sought one opportunity to comply the directions of the State High Court, the Division Bench posted the matter for February 18, 2015 with the direction to file latest status report. It is worthwhile to mention here in more than nine FIRs have already been registered by SVO against several revenue officers including high ranking Deputy Commissioner. —JNF |
