Early Times Report

Srinagar, Aug 16 : The State Cabinet which is likely to meet Wednesday is expected to order transfers and postings in the police and civil administration besides clearing the routine administrative agenda.
A senior PDP cabinet minister revealed that Cabinet meeting is likely to be held on Wednesday. "The cabinet which is likely to meet Wednesday will order transfers and postings in the civil and police administration," the minister said.
Meanwhile sources said that government is also likely to transfer the district SP's. Sources also said that a number department which are without headless are also expected to get their heads.
Sources said that the cabinet last met on May 8 and since then no such meeting has been convened.
Sources said that as a routine, the cabinet needs to meet twice a month as was the case in NC-Congress government.
However the minister claimed that there is not much pending administrative agenda in the PDP-BJP government. "Wrong notion is being created that the Cabinet is not meeting because of the differences between the coalition partners. But I can tell you that there is a good understanding between the coalition partners," the minister said.
According to sources, several proposals and postings of top officers are pending due to non-convening of the cabinet and besides that some top officials of the government who were attached with the general Administration Department are awaiting their postings from last two months.
Meanwhile well informed sources said that government has prepared a list of honest officers for their important assignments.
However sources said that the agenda of the meeting was not yet circulated.
