Jammu, Aug 16:Going beyond the rules, the University of Jammu itself has been trying to fix eligibility, to pave way for a blue eyed candidate into self-financed programme being run by the varsity. Sources said that to ensure entry of a blue eyed candidate in Remote Sensing-GIS department, on direction of Vice Chancellor, Dr RD Sharma meeting of Campus Dean Committee (CDC) was held in which 'yes-man' of the VC were invited, to avoid any opposition while fixing the eligibility. "The meeting was chaired Dean Academic Affairs (DAA) Prof Poonam Dhwan, while Prof Keshav Sharma (Registrar) who is also Dean Management, Prof Ramnika Jalali Dean Art, Dean Sciences, Dean Education, Dean Law, Dean Mathematic Sciences were present in meeting held on August 12, to fix eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor, at Remote Sensing-GIS", sources informed. They said that, though, Dean Management and Dean Arts left the meeting prior to any consensus. Ridiculing, VC claims of transparency in functioning of varsity, the sources said that dropping name of three senior most deans from list of campus dean committee meeting held yesterday."Prof ArchanaKesar, Dean Research, Prof Rajinder Gupta, Dean Social Sciences and Prof Kuldeep Sharma, being senior most professors were not invited in the meeting", sources said and added, "The VC smartly has avoided any opposition during the meeting of Deans, as only 'yes-man' were appeared in the meeting." They further said that junior most, professor and coordinator Remote Sensing-GIS, Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia was also present in the meeting as member. "Prof Jasrotia is the person trying his to ensure entry of his favorite candidate into the Remote Sensing-GIS programme, and had overnight work to fix eligibility as per qualification his blue eyed candidate", sources claimed. Sources also said that University Grant Commission (UGC) had already fixed eligibility for almost all posts including Teaching and Non-Teaching in any University. |
