Directorate of I&C offers carrot to deadwood; stick to deserving | | | Sumit Sharma Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 16: All is not well in the Government of Jammu and Kashmir Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Jammu as adopting two yard sticks, the department had promoted deadwood and criminal while as demoted the deserving ones. As per documents available with the Early Times, the department had promoted its two employees namely Sultan Mohd. and Chanchal Devi from Junior Scale Stenographers to Senior Scale Stenographers without verifying their credentials .Both the employees were promoted against order no:68-DI&CJ of 2012 by the Director of Industries and Commerce. Sultan Mohd., was thrown to office of the Director Industries and Commerce, Jammu by the then DC Poonch in order No DCP/PA/ 1995-98 dated 10/09/2010 after his alleged involvement was surfaced with POK traders at zero line. Sultan was posted with DIC Poonch when he was caught by Poonch police for his alleged involvement with the POK traders. The then DC Poonch also enclosed the copy of the video CD supplied by the SSP Poonch for the kind perusal of the Director Industries for his further departmental inquiry. Chanchal Devi was relieved from DIC Kathua by then General Manager for her misbehavior and irregularity. In the communiqué to the Director Industries and Commerce, Udyog Bhawan, Rail Head Complex, Jammu having number DICK/Estt/3243-45 dated 28.9.2011, then GM DIC Kathua declared her irresponsible and almost deadwood official. He also submitted L.P.C of the said official for further departmental action. Meanwhile, department demoted one Subash Chander Sharma from I/C Senior Scale Stenographer to Jr rank after utilizing his services for four years. Subash, who was placed I/C Senior Scale Stenographer in his own pay and grade in the Directorate against order no 116-DI&CJ of 2012, received set back after the department demoted him from his present post. Number of times, Subhash was projected by the department as P.A to Director of Industries and Commerce and several other senior officers including Chief Secretary of the state. Subash was shown as P.A by Director of Industries and Commerce after he was debarred to enter into the Jammu airport to receive his senior bosses in a resentment letter lodged before senior bureaucrats including Chief Secretary. Meanwhile, repeated phone calls to Director Industries and Commerce Dr Abdul Rashid for his comment went in vain. |
