RSS as anti-Jammu as BJP: A soldier | AIIMS in Kashmir | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 16: Times have changed. The discriminated people of Jammu region had already dismissed the BJP as "anti-Jammu and Valley-centric" after it worked out an agenda of alliance under which the new dispensation in Jammu & Kashmir came into being more than five months ago, as also after they came to know on March 1st that the BJP had already surrendered AIIMS to Kashmir. They have describing the BJP as a party of "cheaters, bluffers, promise-breakers and selfish and unscrupulous elements" and opining that it would an act of sin against God and humanity if someone goes near the BJP and trusts any of the BJP leaders in the state as well as any of the central leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national president Amit Shah and BJP national general secretary and former spokesperson of the RSS, Ram Madhav, who was one of the main architects of the agenda of alliance, which is being contemptuously dismissed by one and all in Jammu as "agenda of subversion", "a new charter of bondage for Jammu" and "another rivet in the chain of Jammu's slavery". The fact of the matter is that the entire BJP leadership in Jammu region has fallen from grace and it is being looked down upon as "untouchable". Leave aside the BJP, the concerned citizens of Jammu region have even developed hatred for the so-called nationalist, pro-Jammu and pro-Hindu Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS). They consider the RSS and the BJP two sides of one and the same coin and charge them with following the policy Kashmiri leader and father and founder of the rabidly anti-Jammu, anti-Dogra, and even anti-Delhi Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah evolved and implemented when he was in power (1947-1953 and 1975-1984). Sheikh Abdullah used to defend his Valley-centric and anti-Jammu policies saying he enjoyed the full backing of the people of Jammu region (read a handful of touts, cronies and power-brokers and sellers). Now it is the BJP that has replaced them and has started playing the games the non-BJP power-brokers, touts, cronies and sellers used to play before March 1st. That they have also developed hatred for the RSS could be seen from the attack on Indersh Kumar, former Pranatiya Prachark, Jammu & Kashmir, and presently looking a national-level leader of the organization charged with the responsibility of taking care of minorities, especially the Muslim community, as well as handing the strategic affairs. The attack was not launched by a politician of any consequence or a student or a businessman. It was launched by a retired Army official Lt Col Mukand Singh Jamwal. Attacking the RSS' Indersh Kumar, the fed-up-with-the-RSS-BJP retired Lt Col said: "Just look at the arguments advanced by the party (BJP) to counter the demands of the people of Jammu region" for AIIMS. First it was the RSS man Indersh who declared that the people of Jammu region should stop competing with Kashmir for everything. He doled out the most uncalled for advice that every time something is given to Srinagar Jammu should not ask for the same. He very conveniently forgot that AIIMS had initially been announced for Jammu. Like the BJP, he (Indersh) also forgot that there something called discrimination which Jammu had been facing since independence and also that the BJP had been voted to power by the people of Jammu region precisely to end that discrimination". This is the view of Jammu on the BJP and the RSS. It would not be out of place to mention here that a very strong anti-BJP-RSS wave is sweeping the Jammu region. The RSS needs to take cognizance of attacks being launched against it by non-political persons like Lt Col Mukand Singh Jamwal. If it ignore, it would also be decimated in Jammu region by the people, who now know what the RSS-BJP combine stands for. |
