Jan expresses concern over continuous shelling in border villages | | | Early Times Reoprt Poonch, Aug 16: Expressing concern over continuous shelling from across the border on civilian areas, Provincial Youth National Conference President and former MLA Ajaz Jan on Sunday assailed the PDP-BJP government for its indifference towards the suffering people. Interacting with the shelling sufferers during his visit to the border village of Chapriya this morning, Jan said the government cannot abdicate its responsibility when the border dwellers were passing through most difficult times. He said the night long shelling has damaged four houses in the village fully and 10 others partially while two villagers have sustained injuries. "The administration has not woken up from its slumber as the injured villagers had to be shifted in a private vehicle to Mandi hospital due to absence of medical facilities or the ambulance", he lamented, saying the government should not test the patience of people. He said the district administration too was callous towards the people as nobody has visited the sufferers so far. Jan complimented National Conference workers for coming to the assistance of the people and provide all necessary support in terms of shifting injured and moving the people to safer places. The Provincial Youth National Conference President also visited Gagrian village, which has been facing the brunt of shelling in recent days and expressed solidarity with the people. He demanded immediate stationing of two ambulances with necessary staff at Chapriya and Sawijan. |
