Jammu, Jan 5: Health Ministry's balloons of the opening of the fifty seven fair price medicine shops in every hospitals of Jammu province were deflated after two petitions were filed by Pardeep Mehandru of Bakshi Nagar and Sandeep Singh of Gandhi Nagar challenging the process on various grounds. Based on the petition, the High Court had directed Commissioner Secretary Health and Medical Education, J&K Medical Supply Corporation and Managing Director Medical Supply Corporation that why rule nisi should not be issued. If the chemists' shops owners are to be believed, the duo filed petition as they have apprehension that the planning of the opening of fifty shops in hospital premises has been taken at the behest of the chemist shop owner who is close to the Health Ministry. Further they said, by resorting such practice, about 200 chemist shop owners would suffer a lot which have adverse effect on the thousands of assistants working in such shops. Meanwhile, seeking the presence of the heads of health ministry on next date of hearing I,e 29.1.16, the court had also gave them liberty to go ahead with the tendering process but shall not finalize the same but subject to the objections from other side. |
