Locals stage protest, inquiry ordered in Farzan death case Nrhm scam a failure 1/6/2016 12:01:47 AM MS Nazki Early Times Report Poonch, Jan 5: Hundreds of locals including relatives of Farzana Kousar ,who allegedly died due to the doctors negligence , staged a protest demonstration against health authorities and blocked Rajouri -Mendhar - Poonch road for about one and half an hour at Mendhar today. Sources said a massive protest demonstration was staged by the locals and the relatives of Farzana Kousar wife of Ibrar Ahmed R/O Harni Mendhar against the helath authorities including DHS Jammu, CMO Poonch and BMO Mendhar. The protestors on the occasion shouted slogans against the state Health Minister too alleging that he has totally failed to streamline the health facilities especially in rural areas, sources said. They further revealed that National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) is a total failure for poor people as from ambulance driver to paramedical staff they have to pay hefty sums while as under this scheme rural people were supposed to be provided all medical facilities free of cost , the sources added. They demanded that the driver of the ambulance who charged Rs 3500 and nurse should be suspended from the services with an immediate effect and departmental inquiry should be initiated against them. District officers including tehsildar Mankote, Shehzad Khan besides SHO Mendhar, SI Shabir Ahmed and incharge SDPO reached on the spot and requested the protestors to let open the road.
