Kathua, Jan 5: The administrative units were created by the former government to make things easy for the people but shortage of faculty in naibats add the suffering of public. Officials' irregularity affects functioning of Niabats that trigger usual protest demonstration in entire district Kathua. Farooq Ahmad, Member JK State Bakarwal Advisory Board said people from adjoining villages travel several miles to reach the Niabat but found no official there. He said if government could not provide sufficient faculty in new administration, there was no purpose to constitute the same. Farooq added that people approach for OBC/ST/BPL/APL cards and certificate but Niabat reveals to be isolated without sufficient staff members. He alleged on officers to attend office twice in a week that affect it's functioning and people have to return back unsatisfactory. Yog Raj, a local, said lot of official works remained pending with the Niabat Tridwan due to unavailability of officials whereas few tainted officials of Niabat openly demand sweeteners for issuance of revenue records of concerned person. He demanded control on sweeteners and proper functioning of the Niabat. When contacted, Punjab Singh Sarpanch Tridwan panchayat said people are fed up to functioning of Niabat. He informed that rural body called on district officials to raise demand for proper functioning of Niabat and misconduct of few tainted officers with locals but body got nothing than merely assurance to review the functioning of Niabat. The protesters appealed state government to review the functioning of Niabat Tridwan and appoint more faculty to facilitate people of population nearly 5 thousand depending on Niabat Tridwan.
