Ahead of republic day, MA Stadium sealed Sports Council shifts training centers to other venues 1/5/2016 10:45:51 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 5: Three weeks ahead of Republic day and ceremonial function which is organized in MA stadium, this premier sports training center of Jammu has been sealed by the security agencies. The sealing has been preponed this years in the wake of terror attack at Pathankot airbase . Sources said that the security agencies have sealed the M A Stadium so as to prevent any eventuality in the coming month as the M A Stadium is the only venue of the Republic day function at Jammu. Sources again said that the stadium will remain sealed till the Beating Retreat ceremony on 30th January which marks the conclusion of Republic Day celebrations. The state sports council has shifted the Cricket fencing as well as the Athletics training centers which normally operate inside the stadium to the other venues. Joint Secy. Sports council, Shiv Kumar Sharma, when contacted disclosed, "We have shifted the training centers from the Stadium to the other venues so that training does not suffer". He said that the Multi purpose hall is still open and will remain functional till 20th January so that the sports activity does not get affected.
