Jammu, Jan 5 : A group of students drawn from various parts of Jammu region who have been sent by BSF to Bharat Dharshan tour today called on Chief Minister of Gujarat and also visited various tourist places of historical importance in and around Gujarat. According to BSF Spokesperson, Bharat Darshan Tour consisting of 40 students of remote areas of Jammu region accompanied with lady teacher met with Anandiben Patel Chief Minister of Gujarat on Monday (Jan 4). "Children were very happy during the long interaction with the chief minister, BSF official said, adding, "the participants also visited many tourist places in Ahmedabad like Science City, Akshardham Temple, and Sabarmati Ashram etc." Worth to mention that participants also attended a one week camp at National Integration Camp (NIC) in Rajkot organized from Dec 27-Jan 3. During their visit to NIC Rajkot the students listened to many world fame intellectuals who spoke on different issues like Surya Narayanan, Dy Project Director ISRO on the topic- How Satellites works; . Lt Gen (Retd) Surendra Kulkarni, Principal Mayo College Ajmer on 'Nelson Mandela', Rear Admiral SN Ghorwade NSM on 'Indian Navy', Mukherjee IFS on 'India and Indians', Lt Gen (Retd) Ata Husnain on 'Service in Indian Army' and Maj Gen (Retd) G D Bakshi on 'Human Values' while Dr K K Chakravarty IAS-shared his experiences. Meantime students also attended special lectures of Dr Anupama from Indian Institute of Astro-physics on 'Comets and Planets', P C Haldar IPS (Retd) ex IB chief on 'National Security,' Lt Gen (Retd) PC Katoch on Fighting Militancy, Mukesh Khanna of Shaktiman/Mahabharata fame interacted with the children on the topic, 'Good Habits', Dr Gururaj Karjagi from Academy for Creative Teaching on creative teaching and Lt Gen RK Mehta on Good Habits. |
