Jammu, Jan 13: Former Director Information, presently advisor Rachnatmak Samaj (a Gandhian Global Society) and Civil Defence, Jammu Narinder Singh expressed profound grief and shock over the passing away of Prof. Ranbir Singh, describing him as an able administrator and an ace academician, who left an incredible mark during his chequerred career. "Prof. Ranbir Singh had made a inche for himself while working in different capacities as an educationist and director youth services in Jammu University," Singh said in a condolence message. Prof. Ranbir Singh started his career as a lecturer of history in a govt. college, Anantanag. Later he was promoted as Principal, Degree College Poonch and subsequently he was posted as Director Youth Welfare in Jammu University from where he attained superannuation. Later he was appointed as chairman of Sant Rocha Singh, Degree College where he rendered selfless service, with dedication till last. He was among the pillar of Sikh Community who worked for the upliftment of educational institutions started by Dera Nangali Sahab, Poonch. A big religious congregation was held here today at Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Nanak Nagar. Among others who paid homage to the departed soul included Mahant Manjeet Singh of Dera Nanagali Sahab, Rangeel Singh and Gurmukh Singh former ministers, and Sudershan Singh Wazir, ex- chairman, State Gurudwara Prabhandak Board. |
