Leg-pulling begins in BJP for ministerial berth | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 13: After Mehbooba purpotedly indicated that she would join the coaltion with BJP, MLAs of the saffron party are busy in leg-pulling for securing ministerial berth in the new government. The recent cajoling by one of the MLAs of the BJP to Ram Madhav for ministerial berth has left many of the party bigwigs high and dry. This MLA, who posed himself as well-wisher of the 'Kissan' community, was introduced to Madhav during his visit to Jammu two days ago by the BJP's stalwart in the state. If the sources are to be believed, this BJP stalwart pinpointing the laxities of the BJP's former ministers pleaded for the ministerial berth for this MLA in the new coalition Government. The Modi Government had already received complaints about its state ministers. The Industry Minister Chander Prakash Ganga and MoS Education and Information Technology Priya Sethi, besides others were mainly targeted. Earlier, some BJP stalwarts sought time from party president Amit Shah for meeting to manage the ministerial berth to their favourite MLAs, but they did not succeed. Infuriated over the attitude of the senior most politicians, this Kissan well-wisher MLA, in retaliation, did not attend the Kissan Mela held in New Delhi. Pertinently, the internal bickering and leg-pulling in the BJP surfaced when a message reportedly at the behest of political leaders was circulated through social media network in which some new faces were seen in the upcoming coalition government. The content of the message read as, "Dy Chief Minister, Nirmal Singh is being assigned the party presidentship. Choudhary Lal Singh will be Minister of Power Development apart from Health and Medical Education. Chander Parkash Ganga has been dropped as Industries Minster and replaced by Abdul Ghani Kohli. Shakti Parihar, MLA Doda, will be new Minister of State for Transport with independent charge. Rajiv Jasrotia, MLA Kathua, will be new Minister for Social Welfare while Bali Bhagat will retain Forests & Environment. MoS Education Priya Sethi has been dropped and replaced by MLA Sat Sharma. MLA Kishtwar Sunil Kumar will be new Minister of State for Forests, Social Welfare and Information. Choudhary Sukhnandan will retain PHE Irrigation and Flood Control while MLA Chenani, Dina Nath Bhagat, will be new Minister of State for CAPD, S&T and Information Technology. Cherring Dorjey will retain his portfolio". |
