Early Times Report

UDHAMPUR, Feb 28: With the aim to encourage the talented youth of the area, J&K Police Udhampur-Reasi Range organized a Range level Talent Hunt competition "Chhoona Hai Aasman" Season-5 under its Civic Action Programme.
A total of 24 talented contestants 12 each from Udhampur and Reasi districts reached the finals after district level screening held under both Senior and Junior Categories.
District Development Commissioner, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary was chief guest on the occasion and distributed prizes among the winners.
While speaking on the occasion, DDC lauded the efforts of J&K Police to explore talents among the youth of the districts saying that such programmes are bound to improve children's self confidence and esteem and encourage them to pursue and improve upon their talents. This would also help in channelizing their energies to constructive purposes rather than towards anti-social activities.
Congratulating the winners, Dr. Shahid called upon them to make more efforts to achieve the goal in the next Zonal round to be held at Jammu.
DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, Surinder Gupta said that the Talent Hunt Programme is a major initiative of J&K Police to give the meaningful direction to youth to shine. He said that such programmes would prove supportive for them to bring the people of the area close to the police thereby helping to strengthen the police public relations. In senior female category, Shivi Badyal, Mehak Gupta and Mumtaz and in male category Suraj Dogra, Chaman Lehari and Ashish Kumar were adjudged as first, second and third respectively. In junior female category Aarshi Kals, Razia and Smile and in male category Rohit Khanotra, Sourab Singh and Afiq-Ul- Rehman secured first, second and third positions respectively. The prize winning contestants would participate in the Zone Level competition, "Choona Hai Aasman Talent Hunt Show Season 5".
Renowned artists from Jammu, Vijay Attri, Ravi Sharma and Kamal Sharma acted as jury members of the contest. Deputy Chief Warden Civil Defence, Advocate Swatantra Dev Kotwal conducted the proceeding of the function.
