Encroachments choke Samba town

SAMBA, Feb 28: Mucipal Committee Samba (MCS) has failed to remove encroachments from footpaths in the town.
Most of the footpaths in Samba town are enroached by Bhalla seller and Vegetable vendors. The problem is faced in border road,National Highway and Link road Samba. The traffic jam is main cause of encroachment in National highway and entire route of the town.
The vendors selling garments, fruits, vegetables, crockery and footwear occupy a major chunk on footpaths."MCS has failed to remove encroachment from the footpaths and road.The shopkeepers and vendors display the several items on the road and footpath.
There is no parking facility available in these areas and the shopkeepers and their customers have to park their vehicles on the busy road, which compound problem for common masses and they are forced to walk on the road.
On the National highway vendors and shopkeepers have encroachment upon footpaths causing immense inconvenience to pedestrians. "Due to encroachment of footpaths ,Near Jk Bank Samba, Students and general public are forced to walk on main road because the road and foothpath captured by vendors and shopkeepers.This poses risk of accidents Said," Chanchal Kumar, a local resident of Samba.
The footpath must be available for pedestrians so there is need to launch strict anti- encroachment drive. Several vendors outside of the state to mushrooming in samba for without valid licence the concern authorties is totally failed. He request to the concerning authorties to regular check up and stern action against the shop keepers and vendors Said " Advocate , Abhinav Khanmotra ,a local resident of Samba. There is need to aware the vendors and shopkeepers who captured footpath he added.
We have many times launched drive against shopkeepers and street vendors who encroach upon the footpaths and road sides.but our drive to remove encroachment from footpaths will continue Said Pritam executive officer Muncipal Committee Samba.
