Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report Kishtwar, Feb 28: In two different tragic fire incidents in Kishtwar District, a residential house was completely gutted in Kuchhal area of Mughal Maidan Tehsil of Chhatroo Sub Division while in another fire incident a 52 Battalion HQ of CRPF, some official record was gutted when an LPG cylinder inside the mess caught fire. As per the details available with "Early Times", the first fire incident took place at around 9 AM in the morning in the house belonging to Ahumdoo Malik son of Razzak Malik resident of Kuchal in tehsil Mughal Maidan. The officials informed that the cause of the fire was due to electrical short circuit which sparked a fire in which the house was completely gutted despite the fact the local people tried its best to control the fire but due to non availability of fire tender in the area, the house was reduce to ashes. In another fire incident at 52 Battalion CRPF camp at Kuleed Kishtwar, the prefabricated hut and a mess caught the accidental fire due to LPG cylinder leakage. As soon as the fire was noticed by the CRPF men on duty, they swung into action, beside the fire tender reached the spot in no time; the fire was brought under control, but the mess portion was mostly damaged, beside the adjoining complex holding the office of the head of the headquarter also caught the fire in which some official record and files were also destroyed. Team of Kishtwar police led by in charge SHO Momin Zarger and Red Cross volunteer Asgar Ali Sheikh also rush to the spot and provided logistic support to the CRPF in controlling the fire from spreading. Later Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan order for providing cash assistance of Rs. 10000, blankets, tents and kitchen sets to Kuchhal fire victim out of Red Cross fund. Meanwhile Senior Congress leader and Member Legislative Assembly (MLA), Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori expressed grief and shock over the damage to property in fire incident at Kuchal and while expressing his sympathies with the victim family, Saroori assured them every possible help in rebuilding the house Saroori said that there is an immediate need of opening of well equipped fire service stations at Tehsil level across the State, adding that in hilly areas like erstwhile district Doda, such stations should be opened at block level. He said that in recent year major fire incidents were reported in Thathri, Keshwan, Chatroo, Mugalmaidan, Bunjwah, Warwan, Marwah, Dachhan, Padder, Nagsini, Drabshalla and other parts of the District, added that same has raised a question mark on preparedness of Fire Service Department and Government in tackling the increasing fire incidents in Kishtwar district and other parts of the State.
