10 yrs on, bridge awaits completion
Connecting Ramnagar to Udhampur

Udhampur, Feb 28: Ten years on , the up-gradation work on 27.73 kms long Udhampur (Roun Domail)-Ramnagar road is still incomplete. The main Bridge which connects Ramnagar Tehsil to Udhampur are very old and not motorable but still every day hundreds of vehicles play in between udhampur to Ramnagar through said bridge. They said that in the year 2007 a new Road Project was sanctioned Udhampur (Roun Domail)-Ramnagar was started and the work was hand over to the ERA and further gave to PBA infrastructure company but after installing the Pillar on river Tawi the work of bridge is stand still is yet to be completed . The vehicles still play through old Bridge are in deplorable condition and not motorable alleged locals. Only one vehicle play one side bridge due to congested and unfit condition of bridge and second vehicle are waiting on other side of the Bridge to cross the bridge through old bridge. Moreover the Road are in bad shape adjoining old bridge giving open invitation to Road mishaps.
They alleged that Crores of rupees spend till date on the construction work of said bridge but it was not complete upto till date.
They also said that bridge is incomplete and no benefit to the common masses of the Ramnagar tehsil. They alleged that many times they approach the district administration but no action taken till date. They also demanded to DC Udhampur through Early Times for the completion of Bridge work and then give relief to the poor common masses and local people of there.
When contacted XEn PWD Rajesh Gupta and he said that they had handedover the work of said bridge to ERA but they donot complete the bridge due to internal problems and now the tendering of said bridge is ok and will be again and we will try to complete the work of bridge before Dec. 2016 '
