Lal Singh sees no sense in Beti Bachao, Beti Padao scheme | | | Early Times Report kathua, Feb 28: The former Health Minister, Ch Lal Singh has said that the Beti Bachao, Beti Padao was nonsense. According to him, the scheme shows that women were discriminated against in India. He said "What nonsense is this," while addressing a function in Kathua today. He said the scheme had triggered panic among the people. Interestingly, the scheme was launched by Prime Minister and Ch Lal Singh inspite being a BJP MLA has dared to rubbish it. The Kathua BJP president, however, criticized Lal Singh for his remarks. He said there are various areas of women and child which need to be addressed immediately. "The idea is to create awareness about gender equality and extend medical aid for various ailments for women and child." He said the sex ratio falls at 832/1000 in Kathua district which is an alarming bell for the society. He informed that sex ratio must be 952/1000 at International level that has yet to reach. The scheme is launched by Modi's Government with a motive to promote the gender quality. |
