Udhampur, Feb 28: A Veterinary Aid and Rural development camp was organized at village Seen Brahmna as part of Army's 'Op Sadbhavna' under the aegis of HQ 71 Sub Area at Udhampur. The camp was conducted with cooperation from District Animal Husbandry Department and experts from College of Veterinary Sciences, Jammu. Besides free Veterinary treatment for the animals, facilities of disease diagnosis, surgical intervention, mass deworming and advise on good animal health management practices to improve the productivity of livestock were conducted. The farmers were provided with a single window opportunity where they could interact with other rural development departments like Agriculture, Horticulture, Sheep husbandry and Rural Banking. The day long camp which was visited by large number of farmers and a record number of 3870 livestock including cows, buffaloes, goats, sheep, horses, mules, camels and dogs were rendered professional advice and treated. The active participation of functionaries from departments of Agriculture, Horticulture and Sheep husbandry under the guidance of District Development Commissioner were highly lauded by the local populace. |
