Mahant Ram Kund Bawli temple demands compensation | | | Early Times Report
mendhar, Feb 28: Alleging that the Public Works Department (PWD) has not paid the compensation in lieu of 3.5 kanals of temple land taken over for the construction of a road, the Mahant of Ram Kund Bawli Temple Sita Ram said that despite repeated requests over the past seven years department has not paid any heed According to Mahant, a stretch of 3.5 Kanals of Mandir land bearing Khasra No 833/1 was taken over by PWD for construction of an approach road to village Simkan in 2009 after assuring compensation for the same but nothing has been paid yet against this land. Mahant Sita Ram said that he met the SDM Mendhar, who said that the file for compensation has been sent to the higher authorities for further action. To discuss the non- disbursal of compensation, a meeting of Bajrang Dal (BD) was held at Poonch under the chairmanship of Surya Thakur, Vice President of BD in which the participants said that the delay in payment of compensation was due to lackadaisical attitude of the PWD. They urged the Executive Engineer PWD to release the payment at the earliest failing which they will be forced to come on road. Beside district vice president, Tehsil President Bajrang Dal Sonu Sharma also appealed to the Governor NN Vohra to issue necessary instructions to the department to release the amount of compensation immediately. |
