JAMMU, Feb 28: Month of February 2016 turned to be unfortunate for Urdu fraternity because two towering personalities of the language had left many of their admirers mourning their death. These observations were made in the literary meeting of the Anjuman Farogh-e-Urdu J&K Jammu chaired by Amin Banihali. Intizar Hussain an ace critic and writer who had about half a dozen short story books, four novels, two travelogues, three books of articles, three books on criticism and many others including translations from English to Urdu at his back was known throughout the sub continent. The crusader of Ganga-Jamni culture Nida Fazili left this world on February 8. He was the one, along with his other counterparts, who had added the literary touch in the film songs and earned laurels from his readers. A literary and educational personality of Bhaderwah Prof Shabir Ahmed Qazi Shaaz Sharqi died at the age of 67 on February 25 due to heart attack after brief illness. He had penned many books including the one on Arsh Sahbai which is probably the first book on the renowned poet. Anjuman condoled the death of all the three and prayed that may their souls rest in eternal peace and the bereaved families may bear their loss. |
