Dy Chairman LC enquires health of mine blast victims | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 28: Deputy Chairman of State Legislative Council (LC), Jahangir Hussain Mir Saturday visited Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu and enquired about the health of mine blast victims, Wasim Akram and Tahir Rahi, who were seriously injured the other day at village Azmabad in Mandi area. Mr. Mir also enquired about the health of another mine blast victim of village Bagyal Dara who was also injured three weeks ago. The Deputy Chairman spoke to the authorities in Poonch and instructed for adequate compensation to the victims and urged the authorities for taking steps for de-mining of populous areas near the LoC in Poonch district. He said clearing landmines in areas bordering the LoC villages to keep local residents safe has become imperative and all concerned must think and act over this humanitarian issue. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Mohammad Harun Malik has given Rs 15000 to the victims out of Red Cross Fund as a measure of immediate relief. The Deputy Commissioner has already sanctioned relief to the mine blast victim of village Bagyal Dara. |
