Kathua, Feb 28 : A Science Seminar was organised in Government Higher Secondary School Boys Kathua in the honour of Dr. CV Raman on the National Science Day 2016. National Science Day is celebrated in India on 28 February each year to mark the discovery of the Raman effect by Indian physicist Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman on 28 February 1928. The Science day was celebrated with great enthusiasm. 15 students from ten prestigious schools and colleges of Kathua participated on this occasion. Students who participated were from Govt. Degree College Kathua, Govt. Degree College for Women Kathua, GHSS (Boys) Kathua, Nav Jagiriti Niketan School Kharote, Minerva Public School, Kathua Learning Temple English Medium School, Kathua, Nav Adarsh Hr. Sec. School, Kathua and Kids Heaven Convent Hr. Sec. School, Kathua Each student expressed the views regarding the role of science in development of modern world in appreciable manner. The chief guest of the seminar was Prof. Pankaj Gupta, Deptt. of Chemistry, Govt. Degree College, Kathua. The other dignitaries present on this occasion were Jatinder Sethi, Gulam Abaas, Dr. Karan Singh, Satish Chandel, Subash Sharma, Shiv Kumar, Angrez Singh. The dignitaries also expressed their views and suggested that the inculcation of scientific attitude among the students is must these days. The students should learn the basic concepts of science because each student is a young scientist. |
