Legal awareness camp on PNDT, PWDV act held | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Mar 1: District Legal Service authority Udhampur organized a Legal Awareness Camp relating to pre-natal sex selection and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Technique (PNDT) Act, and the rights of Women and Protection of Women from Domestic Violence (PWDV) Act, at Government High School, Sunari and Panchyat Ghar Sunari. The camps were held under the chairmanship of Susheel Singh Munsiff Udhampur and Susheel Singh Judicial mobile Magistrate (Traffic) Udhampur. The legal awareness camp mainly focused upon the J&K Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2010 and Pre-Natal Sex Determination and Pre-Natal Diagonastic Technique (PNDT) Act. On this occasion, Retainer Lawyers Advocate Akhil Dubey Lohitakash Sharma informed the audience that for people with an annual income of Rs. One lakh, the Government can provide legal assistance, for which the applicant has to file a simple application mentioning the financial issue. The legal awareness camps aim at spreading awareness among common masses about their legal rights. The camp provided legal education to the people who are unable to utilize their legal rights due to illiteracy, poor economic conditions or due to some social issues. Beside headmaster of the School, staff members, Sarpanch and panchs and general masses also participated in the function. |
