Kejriwal launches scathing attack on BJP, says it's soft on Kashmiri seditionists
JNU anti-India event
3/1/2016 11:53:57 PM
ET Report
jammu, Mar 1: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who otherwise is being termed as an "anarchist" and seditionist, has unleashed a no-holds-barred campaign against the Narendra Modi-led Government at the Centre. He is accusing it of being very soft on those Kashmiri students, who played active role in the February 9 anti-India, pro-Pakistan and pro-azadi event in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). He is saying the Modi Government has initiated action against the innocent students of the JNU and is tarnishing the image of this educational institution.
During the past two days, Kejriwal hit out at the Modi Government and repeatedly claimed that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal claimed that he was a "bigger patriot" than Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the BJP didn't want to upset PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti by arresting the "real traitors" in the JNU case. "I am a bigger patriot than Modi ji. I ask why he has not yet arrested those who had raised slogans for the destruction of the country....because those who raised such slogans are from Kashmir and if they are arrested, Mehbooba Mufti will get angry".
"Our soldiers are being martyred everyday on the border. And Modi ji is saving the anti-national elements to form Government in Kashmir," Kejriwal said, referring to the on-going talks between BJP and PDP to form Government in Jammu (and) Kashmir following the death of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Significantly, Kejriwal himself, along with AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi, Sitaram Yechury, Congress leaders Anand Sharma and Ajay Maken, CPI leader D Raja, JD(U) Spokesperson KC Tyagi, JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar and JNU student Umar Khalid, is facing sedition charges. An FIR has been registered against them. The charge against them is that they sided with the seditious JNU students, and, thus worked against the Indian State.
Whatever the motivation or provocation, the fact remains that the Delhi Police till date has not arrested any of the Kashmiri students involved in the highly abominable anti-national episode that the nation witnessed at the national capital. Indeed, the political establishment in New Delhi has angered the people across the country by not booking any of the Kashmiri seditious students. One may like or dislike the kind of politics Kejriwal indulges in, but one cannot disagree with him when he claims that the Narendra Modi Government is not arresting Kashmiri students for some political reasons and one of the reasons is that the BJP wants to rejoin hands with the PDP to become part of the State Government.
