For Presentation Convent School patriotism is a narrowly understood concept, an evil | | | Early Times Report jammu, Mar 1: In an apparent reference to JNU controversy, the Presentation Convent School, Gandhi Nagar has also joined the bandwagon of those supporting alleged anti-national activities on the name of freedom of expression and describe patriotism as a narrowly understood concept. This is what the PCS has tried to convey and even made an attempt to poison the tender minds of young students through a passage, in the question paper of English for class 6th. The passage reads that the patriotism has its negative sides, particularly when it exceeds its proper bounds. In a veiled attack on BJP and Sangh Parivar, the passage further reads,` People who think their own country to be the best and are blind to its weaknesses are not patriots at all." `Narrow prejudice can do nothing except to bring misfortune. In trying to overlook others interest in the modern world, we harm our own. Patriotism should be tempered with reason so that it may not be an evil, " concludes the passage thus virtually describing patriotism as an evil concept of the people who are not good human beings. This passage in the question paper has not only unmasked the Presentation Convention School but also raised a serious question mark on the School education authorities, which have turned a nelson's eye towards such vicious attempts of mind wash of young students. |
