DDC Samba holds meet, reviews various schemes | | | Early Times Report Vijaypur, Mar 1 :A meeting of Bankers and District/Sectoral officers was held today to review the progress and performance of bankers in key areas relating to deposits/advances and priority sector lending for the quarter ending December 2015. The District Development Commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda while chairing the District Level Review Committee meet had a detailed discussion regarding progress achieved by banks and various departments like KVIB, KVIC, DIC, Agriculture, Animal/Sheep Husbandry etc. under various schemes like KCC, JKSES, PMEGP,DEDs etc. The Lead Bank Manager, Veerji Koul gave a detailed account of the performance of Banks during the quarter under priority sectors, deposits and advances. It was informed that the deposit and advances of banks as on ending December 2015 stood at 2,71,878 lacs and 1,40,057 lacs respectively thereby achieving a CD ratio of 51.51%. Further the District has achieved 55.83% of the total Annual Credit Plan up to quarter ending December for the year 2015-16. The DDC while reviewing the progress directed banks to organize 3 financial literacy camps per quarter in convergence with line departments for better outcome. She stressed on laying focus on forming Joint Liability groups for improving credit linkage in the district. She further directed to provide skill development training to poor girls under Hunar scheme by Rural Self Employment Training Institute, Vijaypur. It was decided that RSETI Vijaypur shall organize first training camp in this regard at Village Channi Awtal. DDM NABARD, Surinder Singh gave a detailed view about the various developmental projects initiated by NABARD in district Samba. He informed that focus is now shifting from crop loan towards capital formation. The Banks provide loans for dairy development at 10.2 % interest rate with no processing charges and no mortgage is required for loans upto Rs 3 lacs.On the occasion, NABARD's Potential Link Plan 2016-17 was also released by DDC Samba. |
