Police nabs three thieves, recovers stolen 100kgs of HT wire

Samba, Mar 1: Samba Police claimed top have busted a gang of thieves involved in stealing the High Tension (HT) supply wires with the arrest of three accused who were caught red handed while stealing wire which was recovered from their possession.
"The thieves have been identified as Mohd Jameel s/o Mohd Hanief resident of Garnai Tikri Udhampur at present Chadawa Mansar, Mohd Maqbool s/o Ali Asgar of Nagrota Panjgarain Ramnagar District Udhampur and Mohd Sabir s/o Daud of Ramgarh Baggar and district Doda presently Chadawa Mansar, said police spokesperson.
According to police spokesperson, a team headed by SI Ashish Sagar, Incharge PP Mansar,under the supervision of Inspector Sanjeev Chib, SHO P/S Samba and Varinder Singh, Dy SP HQ Samba on receipt of reliable information nabbed three thieves red handed who were stealing High Tension wire (132 KV without power) from the Forest area of Jamoura Mansar in district Samba."
Police also seized a truck bearing regd no: JKO2Q-9435 being used by the accused persons for transportation of stolen wire and 1200 meters of aluminum wire having weight approximately 100kg which was cut into pieces along with the cutters/ blades used for cutting.
"The wire has also been recovered from the forest area and seized by the police party," said Ashish Sagar, Incharge Poilce Post Mansar.
He added that in this connection a case under FIR No. 40/2016 US 379 RPC has been registered at P/S Samba and the investigation is going on.
