Burglars decamp with 250 gms Gold, Rs 2.5 Lakh cash

Kishtwar, Mar 7: Putting police on to its heels, the burglars broke into a house and decamped with cash amounting to Rs 2.50 lakh besides gold jewelery approximately weighing to 250 gms (25 tolla). This is the 3rd attempt of theft in the same area in last over one week.
Quoting complainant, police sources said, the complainant Kakka Ram s/o Ishar Dass of Tulsi Nagar Matta in a posh locality on the outskirts of Kishtwar town stated that the house owner along with his family members had gone to village Sarthal for offering prayers at famous Ashtdast Bujja Temple- popularly known as Sarthal Mata temple."
"To their surprise, they found the locks of the house broken on their return while the household items were found scattered all around," police sources said.
"Feeling something wrong, I cautiously entered inside my house and after inspecting the household items, I found the cash and gold jewelry missing " told victim Kakka Ram to Early Times.
"The thieves had broken four locks to carried out the burglary, he said and added cash amounting to Rs 2.50 lakhs and gold jewelry approximately 25 tollas in weight went missing in this theft while rest costly items of the house were intact.
A police officer added that police have registered a case and have entrusted the inquiry to Sub Inspector Anchal Raina. Meantime taking cognizance SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Wazir has asked Dy SP (Ops) Kishtwar Irshad Ahanger to supervise the investigations.
