Money collected to give undue favour to some prominent persons | | | Early Times Report jammu, Mar 7: With uncertainty prevails over formation of Government in the State, a businessman known for his proximity with a senior BJP leader, is facing extreme pressure from many people to return the money he had allegedly collected in exchange of some "favours". The said senior BJP leader was one of the important Minister in the previous Government headed by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and two important departments were at his command. Credible sources in the corridors of powers said that a prominent businessman of the city, who is member of the "kitchen Cabinet" of a BJP stalwart, was allegedly indulged into wrong practices by collecting money from other businessmen, with the promise to do some undue favour. This businessman, to whom the senior BJP leader has given so much importance, had reportedly collected some money from senior police and civil officers to get them lucrative postings by using his influence. Businessmen, police and civil officers had no second thought while giving money because it is known to the everyone from small BJP workers to Central leaders that he (the businessman) is very close to the BJP stalwart and it is he who was taking important decisions relating to the two departments, which were held by the former Minister. It is widely observed in the corridors of power that neither BJP as party nor any other person was more powerful than that businessman so people, without any hesitation, gave money to him for getting some undue favour. Credible sources further said that in the month of December 2015, some businessman had reportedly given some huge amount to the said businessman to get some undue favour. The businessman had promised to get the work done within a week's time but due to sudden death of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Governor's rule was imposed in the State. Two months have been passed after imposition of Governor's rule and the businessman could not fulfill his promises so people were demanding return of their money. "The businessman has asked BJP stalwart to get the works done but he too could not manage the things due to Governor's rule", sources said and stated that he has taken one week's time to return the money. |
