International women's day celebrated in Jammu

Jammu, Mar 9: International women's day was celebrated in Jammu province by various educational initiates and others.
Youth Talent Search (YTS), a forum of schools of Jammu today celebrated International Women’s Day in Jammu Kashmir Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground, Jammu. According to press release, the Principals and member of Youth Talent search-Prabha Jain, Director, New Era Environmental High School, Esther William, Principal, Alexander Memorial School, Shashi Sharma, Director, Bikram Memorial High School and other prominent figures were presented on this occasion. The function was organized to honour Women Initiative Women Empowerment, Women Unity which has been shown in an exemplary manner by the lady Principals of these Youth Talent Search Schools which completed 15 years as principal.
In commemoration of International Women's Day, Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar organized an open interactive session of the staff with the students of the college for the need of gender sensitization for better treatment to women. Principal Prof Tara Nath was the chief guest on the occasion wherein teaching staff members of the College including Santosh Gupta, Anjum Pandotra, Shoba Rani, Shallu Sharma, Renu, Pankaj Sharma and Sanjeev Upadhyay shared their experiences and struggles they met in their way to reach to present position and in one voice stressed on equal treatment to women as also appealed to all women folk to realize their potential and strength.
Women day was celebrated by Jammu Sanskriti School, in a function organized today. A poster making and colouring activity was organized for students besides another activity was also organized. The enthusiastic spirit always shines towards the students' growth and make their future bright. The program was held under the supervision of Coordinators, Prabhjot Kour, Varuna Mangotra and Nidhi Kohli.
As a part of International Women's Day celebrations, Mahila Battalion of Jammu and Kashmir Police organized a cultural-cum-awareness programme at Battalion Headquarters Gulshan Ground here today. Chairperson, J&K Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA), K. Vijaya Rajendra was the Chief Guest. On the occasion, various speakers highlighted the importance of International Women's Day and said that it recalls the courage and determination of women who have played an extra ordinary role in different fields of life.
