Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 9: Notwithstanding desperation being shown by some BJP leaders, who were ministers in the government headed by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, a section of the party is strongly opposing any attempt to accept terms and conditions of PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti for again forming coalition Government in the State.
A meeting of the core group of BJP was held this evening to discuss prevailing situation in the State especially after recent statements of PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti, who has tried to send feelers for again forming government with the party. "Core group members are not united on forming Government by accepting terms and conditions of the Mehbooba Mufti", sources said and meeting witnessed heated exchange of words among some leaders on this issue. "Some BJP leaders, who were ministers in the government led by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed argued that delay in formation of the government is sending very wrong message among the people so decision must be taken very soon", sources said and further revealed that another group, which is against accepting any precondition of PDP, strongly mentioned that at this point of time there is feeling among common people that BJP leadership has succumbed to the pressure tactics of Mehbooba Mufti. This faction suggested that instead of showing eagerness to the form the government, party leadership must adopt wait and watch policy.
Credible sources said that there was sharp line between those who were desperate to form government without any further delay and those who were suggesting taking some time. "Meeting witnessed heated exchange of words because party's core group is not unanimous on this issue", sources said, mentioning that some leaders took former Ministers to task for begging before Mehbooba Mufti to form the government.
