62 year old booked for raping minor in Chhatroo

KISHTWAR, Mar 8: In a shocking incident of sexual abuse in remote Gurinal area of Chhatroo Tehsil in Kishtwar District, Chhatroo police claimed to have registered an FIR against 62 year old person for raping a minor girl who delivered a male baby at District Hospital Kishtwar who also died within hours of the birth.
As per the details available with "Early Times", the hospital authorities at District Hospital Kishtwar informed the Kishtwar police that a minor and unmarried girl with labor pain was admitted at District Hospital Kishtwar. On the basis of the information received from hospital authorities, Kishtwar police immediately rushed to the hospital and started its investigation and after recording the statement of the victim's mother, Kishtwar police register an FIR No 10 U/S 376 RPC at police station Chhatroo against 62 year old Bajja Gujjar son of Amdhu Gujjar resident of Gurinal Chatroo and started its investigation.
The victim's mother informed the police that she shifted her to hospital after her complaint about pain added that when her daughter was examined by the doctors at hospital, they told her that her daughter was pregnant and is expecting a child. Later the victim delivered the male child who died within hours of his birth.
A senior police officer when contacted confirm the registration of an FIR against the accused person added that however police is yet to record the statement of the victim girl as she was not mentally and physically fit after delivery.
He said that the DNA samples of the deceased child has been preserved adding that same will be useful during the course of the investigation for ascertaining identity of the accused person involved in this heinous crime. He said that though the family members claimed that the age of the victim is 16 to 17 years, added that police had also seek the medical opinion from the doctors to ascertain her real age.
