Jammu, Mar 9: Senior Congress leader, former minister and General Secretary PCC Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today asserted that that power hungry BJP has surrendered interests of Jammu before its coalition ally the PDP. He said this while addressing a meeting of Block Congress Committee of Kandi area, Billawar at Dinga Amb organized to boost the morale and activities of party workers, keeping in view the upcoming panchayat elections. Flanked with District Party President and former MLC Subash Gupta, Dr Manohar Sharma said that both the governments, at centre as well at state had failed to fulfill the demands of the people. Castigating both the PDP and the BJP, Dr Sharma said that after the gimmicks of gaining and bargaining for lust of power both the parties are trying again to form government. "The previous coalition of 10 months has resulted as a total failure and now the next spell would repeat itself, " Dr Sharma quipped and added, "BJP is trying to take credit of the schemes started during the UPA tenure and now some of that are final stage by doing the inaugurations made by the NDA ministers . Dr Sharma also resented previous regime's failure in restoring water, power and ration supply in different parts of the district and said that conditions are worst in Kandi belt. He demanded compensation for the recent crop loss occurred due to absence of rains. Giving reference of Panchyat Election's he appealed the party workers to boost the party activities in their respected areas. While addressing the meeting Subash Gupta said that the state government in it’s period of eight months had totally failed in providing basic amenities to people. Lambasting PDP-BJP, Subash Gupta said that both political parties are self-centered but Congress is the only secular party. "Sooner the public would feel the effects of these political parties and Congress would again restore its position", he optimistically added.
