Zulfkar for slashing airfares in JK flights | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jun 2: Expressing concern over hike of airfare in the flights to J&K, Minister for Consumer Affairs, Public Distribution Department and Legal Metrology Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has approached Union Minister for Civil Aviation Government of India, Ashok Gajapathi Raju in black and white and demanded to keep the airfare reasonable so that it donot affect tourist influx to Kashmir during summer season. Zulfkar brought into the notice of Union Minister that during past few years during Summer, airlines both Government and Private arbitrarily hike the air fares in these sectors thereby badly impacting the consumers intending to travel in these sectors. He said that the season is the peak tourism season of the State and there is need to pave way for tourists to smoothly visit Valley. He said that the rates charged are generally on the higher side and shoot up irrationally during Summer season. Expressing serious concern of it, Zulfkar said that high air fare rates gives a jolt to the intending passengers as they get discouraged to travel by air on these sectors and take alternative travel modes. |
