Jammu, June 2: Police today claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 1.2 gms of heroin from his possession during a naka checking at Nagrota. A case stands registered against the accused.
"The accused has been identified as Altaf Hussian s/o Lt Nazir Hussian of Sagash Achabal, Anantnag Kashmir presently at Khanpur Nagrota near Youth Hostel, police said.
"On specific information party led by SHO Nagrota, Inspector Karan Chalotra under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Amit raised a naka and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK11A-0326," said Police spokesman here today.
He said, "During search police recovered 1.2 gms of heroin from possession of the above said accused who was arrested on the spot.
Police spokesperson added that the accused is also addict and was earlier booked in bovine smuggling cases.
Police have registered a case and started investigation to ascertain the source from whom he procured the drug. |
