FM proposes all party meet to discuss pay, CDF hike | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 2: Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu while reacting to the issue of demand of pay and Constituency Development Fund (CDF) hike suggested an all-party meet to discuss the demand of legislators with regard to increase in CDF and salary of lawmakers. Responding to debate on JK Budget, Finance Minister said that increase in salary or CDF won't affect finances neither would it be a burden on state government added that inspite of him being a minister, he like everyone is MLAs first. "At the end of this session, I propose an all-party meet," Dr Drabu said in his 60-minute response, "let us discuss it there." He said that as far as CDF is concerned, it should not be an alternative plan and termed the same as its personal view and not that off the government. "It should not be a parallel empire," he asserted added that however CDF eases local legislators their burden to solve issues by utilizing CDF at their own. The legislators from across the party divide have been demanding increase in their salaries and CDF and same has been dominating major part of their speeches today. |
