NGO stages protest against illegal encroachment, constructions

Hiranagar, Apr 15: Shakti Punj (NGO), a social organization Hiranagar protested in front of SDM office Hiranagar by burning the effigy of administration and land grabbers against illegal encroachment of land and construction by land grabbers near Tehsil headquarter.
The protest was led by the President of the organization Kuljeet Singh. He said land grabbers are very much active in Hiranagar town and the involvement of administration cannot be refused.
"Plants cutting, land filling, plinth construction is also taking place on state land but the sorry state is that Forest Department, Municipal Council and revenue department is sleeping. All this work is executed by a unknown saint who has the shelter of land mafia", he said, requesting higher authorities to conduct an enquiry on this whole matter and a FIR must be lodged against the culprits.
Later the members of organization met with Tehsildar Hiranagar, Meenakshi Jasrotia, who assured them that an enquiry would be conducted and culprits be punished as per law. The others present in the protest included Ex. Vice-Chairman of Municipal Council Bharti Sharma, Muna Sharma, Ramesh Kumar, Arun Pathania, Deepak, Ganga Sharma, Vikram Singh, Jai Suraj, Himmant Singh, Nipu Sharma and Surinder Bakshi.
