Month on, rapist roams freely Distressed minor awaits Justice

Srinagar, Apr 15: A month after raping a minor, the rapist roams around freely as the police watch helplessly.
According to reports Shabir Ahmad Khan of Sedpora Shopian along with Ishfaq Khan of Pehlipora Kulgam raped a minor girl in Pehlipora village.
The rapew was facilitate by a woman accomplice who called the victim requesting her to help her in her household chores.
Reports said the minor was rendered unconscious by some drugs and raped.
Father of the victim, while talking to Early Times said that his minor daughter left home on March 5, 2015 around 3 pm and went towards their old home in Pehlipora village as usual to check out the property.
He said she did not return till late evening. The search, he said did not yield any results. "next morning a lady brought her home. Her condition conveyed it all,' he said adding 'we rushed to Damhal Police station immediately and asked them to file an FIR and arrest the rapists. However, the police did not take action for unknown reasons,"
The police has taken the medical examination report but no action has been taken till date, he said.
The rape victim is admitted in Psychiatric Disease Hospital here in Srinagar and according to the Hospital authorities, is in a shock.
Meanwhile, the aggrieved family has been threatened to remain mum. An official in Police Station Damhal of Kulgam District said that one FIR number 20/15 US 342,376/109 RPC has been registered. "Two persons have been arrested but the main accused is on the run," he said.
