Government departments have initiated the process of dividing Jammu region on communal lines to fulfil divisive agenda of Hurriyat Conference and other anti-India groups. Hurriyat Conference and other anti-India groups, for the last one decade, were trying to divide Jammu region on communal lines by floating the term Pir Panchal region for Poonch-Rajouri districts and Chenab Valley for erstwhile Doda district. Even militant groups have also raised this slogan but people of Jammu region, irrespective of their caste, creed or colour, have opposed this divisive agenda but now government departments have officially started creating communal divide in Jammu region. Officially handout issued by the State Information Department today has termed erstwhile Doda district as Chenab Valley region to fulfil nefarious divisive designs of Hurriyat Conference. First time, Information Department has used the term Chenab Valley for erstwhile Doda district which reflects that some elements have started pursuing divisive agenda in the government to create hurdle in the smooth functioning of the PDP-BJP coalition regime. According to official handout issued by the Information Department, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Abdul Haq Khan today said while the Coalition Government is committed to work for the welfare of every region of the State, the "Chenab Valley" area get special attention because of its treacherous terrain. This was stated by the Minister while reviewing sector-wise physical and financial achievements in district Doda under Annual Plan 2014-15 at a meeting of district officers here today. Minister of State for PWD (R&B) and Revenue Sunil Kumar Sharma, MLA Bhaderwah, Daleep Singh, MLA Doda, Shakti Raj, MLC Mr. Naresh Kumar Gupta,MLC Firdous Ahmed Tak, Deputy Commissioner Doda, Bhupinder Kumar, Director Rural Development Jammu G.N Balwan, besides sectoral officers were present at the meeting. Worthwhile to mention here that BJP and other organisations have always opposed using the term Chenab Valley for the erstwhile Doda district. |
