Expecting Govt reward, defaulter trying ill means for license renewal | | | Ajay Sharma
Early Times Reporrt
Reasi/Jammu, Apr 15: Expecting for the government bounty to be showered upon him, a defaulter license holder of a ration depot at Barnara Panchayat is running pillar to post to get his license renewed after 12 years of evasion. Dev Raj resident of Panchayat Nala Makol who procured a CAPD license in the year 2003 did not opened the ration shop and kept the license in his possession for long 12 years while the other ration depot holder namely Pushvinder Mahajan catered to the ration needs of the people of the area. However as per the new government stipulations of 2014, it was moved that all the ration depot holders would be roped in as government employees - an exciting offer that aroused the sense of manipulation in the mind of Dev Raj who now is moving places to get his ration license validated. The provisos in the renewal of such licenses say that every ration license had to be renewed before the fall off year and all holders are required to get them renewed on time. Dev Raj, though being a person in possession of other good business never wanted to get the licence renewed. It was the government stipulation of roping in all as government employees that drew Dev Raj to use his influence in the government, particularly of the BJP MLAs and MP allegedly to get his work done. However when he approached the CAPD department with a plea to get his license renewed, the CAPD authorities sent a team of officials to his area in Barnara to cross check the position of the ration supply. It was found that all the people of the area voted in favour of the old practitioner Pushvinder Mahajan for his supply being timely and without any impediments. The officials gave their report in the CAPD office which again denied Devraj any chance of getting his license renewed through any fraudulent means. Meanwhile all calls to CAPD director RS Chib proved futile as he did not care to respond. The minister for CAPD Zulfkar Ali when contacted gave a stern reply saying that any attempt by any official department appeasing the defaulter would be taken to task. "Since there is a clear indication of renewal of the license in the time bound manner, any attempt to forge on any account would be dealt with severity. No license expired beyond one year of its issuance would be renewed," he said. |
